I don't know if this has been discussed yet. I was going to post a link to the song that worked earlier but it's dead already. It's floating around and getting some radio play so do some searching if you havent heard it yet.
Anyway, for those that heard it...what do you think?
I don't know what I had hoped for. They were my favorite band when I was younger...and here they are, 7 years after breaking up. An incomplete band. It's hard to recreate something that was so good. I was hoping for something along the lines of Siamese Dream and this song definitely wouldnt even come close to being the worst b-side of that era.
The music sounRAB decent - but not wonderful, and not catchy - I listened to the song at least 5 times and I don't even remember how it goes. His voice just sounRAB like the Zwan days which I always felt was weak...not the older Pumpkins days where the vocals had as much importance on the song as the music did. His voice on Siamese Dream is soft/loud accordingly and fit perfectly with the music...now it just seems like he's forcing it.
I had semi-high hopes for this album. Corgan really wanted to bring this band back together and he knew that his strong point was Gish/Siamese Dream/Mellon Collie so I thought he'd be in the right minRABet. Somehow I had hoped that songs would either be resurrected from those days, or written along the lines of those albums. I really hope that the album as a whole is way better than this song.
I guess one thing we have to look forward to is the band live playing the old songs. That could be good. Though, when I saw them on the Adore tour, they barely touched old material.
