Smartphone, maybe?

I'm coming up on needing a new phone, and I was looking at what's out there today. I'm with Verizon in Southern California, and I have a preference towards LG phones (I've had bad experiences with others, like Samsungs and Motorolas specifically). I've been using my VX8100 for a couple years now, and love it, but it's battery is starting to fade and I'm just ready for a change.

One of the things I love about my 8100 is the tethering hack for the no-data plan internet on my laptop. It's something I use rarely (no more than ~once every two months or so), but when I do use it I find it incredibly useful. I'm also interested in interfacing it with a computer from the standpoint of routing calls through the computer (I am soon building a car pc, and want to have the two interfaced well enough to have interoperability in calls). I don't know if that's possible, though, so it's not gonna be a limiting factor in my decision, just icing.

Bluetooth's a must, and I prefer Windows mobile (or whatever it's called now) over the Palm OS. I would like Linux-based the most, but I don't think that VZW has anything like that. Development support would be nice, I don't know how that stuff works though.

Hefty list, I realize, but anything that meets at least some of these requirements would be nice. Any recommendations?

PS: Also, a speedy UI is important to me -- one of my major problems with the Samsungs and Moto's I have dealt with has been laggy interface when I press menu buttons, but my LG is almost instantaneous.

P-PS: Just thought of something else -- do any phones have the ability to "share" their GPS data over BT or Cable to a PC (NMEA Coord.s or however)? This would be nice, as it would mean one less thing required for my CarPC. Thanks a ton in advance.
