I may be signing a 3 year plan with Bell through my dads company. The 3 phones I am looking at are:

Nokia N97
Iphone 3G (maybe S)
BB 9700

I mainly need a phone that has good battery life, easy to text with, good call quality/reception and decent mp3 player. I know these features are available in almost every phone, but I figure I might as well get a good phone if Im signing for 3 years. My current phone is a KRZR from Motorola and I hate it. The screen is terrible, and I have to charge it every night. My phone before was a k790a and I loved it. I wish I could go back to that phone, but its unlocked and I need a plan with LD minutes and other stuff.

Ive read reviewson gsmarena and cnet and Im leaning towards the n97 or 9700. The iphone is a bit clunky, and it seems like a pain to type on. The n97 has built in memory, a great camera and its a nice size. Thanks in advance

Coming from an E71, I was skeptical to get an iphone because E71 has the best keyboard IMO. Anywho, although I love that keyboard, I type waaaaay faster on the iphone because of predictive text.

Battery life is not the greatest if you play games and browse a lot. I think it'll be fine if you're only messaging and listening to music.

But the best part is the music player. You can have a short cut to bring up the ipod function at anytime. the phone is locked? double press the home button and you have quick access to ipod. on top of that, the earphones can control your ipod without the phone. awesome if you're at the gym and wanna skip to the next song.

I'm sure the other phones are just as good, but for your needs, which is similar to me, definitely go with the iphone.

What about the call quality with the iphone?

I cant seem to find any reviews on the N97 from the last few months. Every review seems to be from June when there was not much support for the phone in terms of applications and 3rd party stuff.

Having played around with all 3 phones and based on your needs, I would go with the BB 9700. Good battery life, great email and texting capability.

If you're planning to listen to a lot of music, I would pick the N97 here. But for everything else, such as social networking, go with the 9700. If you want games, just go with the N97 and 9700 and buy yourself an iPod Touch too.

Can't go wrong with either the 3gs or the 9700 I would stay away from the n97 low ram and symbian3 on the horizon, it just wouldn't mAke fiscal sense

Between those 3 definitely the 9700 for the total package. As a phone, and in terms of battery life, the iPhone is a little goofball.

I'd say get the 9700. I've heard nothing but good things about it and it seems to fit what you need really well. And if you really want games, get an iTouch.
