I am the caregiver for my spouse, a disabled veteran. I need to be able to pick up and go on a moments notice. Keep track of Dr. appts, mileage, notes for incidents and emergency and keep track of progress. Instead of sticky notes, writing on my hands, making list after list. It is not feasible to pick up my 17' laptop and "run". I need to be able to sync progress reports (my observations of what is happening) be able to search, print, sync to my laptop. The searches I get lead me back to tablets. I would like to know from a technical savvy individual, which is the best option form me and what i need it for. If you need more Information let me know. I am swamped in "lists" that, I end up just making lists, notes, over and over, then re writing them onto a new list. writing on my hand so I don't forget (while driving). But I do need to sync to hp laptop, have it be search-able, mileage, so much. I need this for month, week, year end, information, back up said info or keep on a stick. Anyway any suggestion on what the best, electronic device would work for my needs. I thank you for your time.

I love my Ipad because it is big. Not as big as the laptop, bigger than the phone for seeing and typing.. The calendars can sync up to my laptop calendars in Office. 1 piece with on screen typing or I have a fold over carry cover with built in keyboard distributed by Brookstone.com
With 3g option you can connect most anywhere. that cost like 25 bucks a month for the 1 gigabyte plan and I don't go over because I am not watching movies on it on network. If you are home on your wifi you are not using up your data allotment of course. Verizon is my favorite choice of the 3g.
apple is working on a new Icloud program for your notes to sync wirelessly back to your other computers.
