Small hard bump on the palm of my hand?

Sounds like a cyst. Chances are if its not painful or on a nerve the doctor would "lance" it (drain) and it may come right back. Some doctors will surgiclly remove cysts but I dont think that is very common.
 
Its a hard small bump on the bottom of my middle finger on the bone, when i move my middle finger, the bump moves too.
The trainer for sports at my school says its too hard to be a cyst and i should go to a hand specialist.
I play softball so if this bump turns out to be something bad, i don't know what i'm going to do.
Will i have to get it surgically removed? It just keeps on getting a bit bigger every couple days and i've had it for about a week.
Any ideas about what it is?
