I resided in Fairfax va and I had a contract with my landlord that stated that she will refund me my security deposit. I moved out and she was evicted from her house this month due to financial reasons. I have numerous documentation stating that she will refund me the security deposit.
She was paying me monthly installments due to my threats on taking her to court. I still have a copy of the checks that she was sending and on the check she wrote the balance that she still owes me.
Do I have a case? Is six hundred dollars worth going through all this for? Where do I start if it is necessary?
