I'm trying to decide what phone to get with Verizon, but it seems impossible to find a tri-mode phone. The all-digital phone I tried echoed my own voice back to me during conversation. My all-time favorite phone has been the Audiovox 9500, but I'm told by Verizon that a new one cannot be had. Anyone familiar with that phone would know the features I value: Clamshell/flip design, tri-mode with perfect reception, not too small of a phone, silver color and good to look at, fits the hand and face when using, rings loud enough, outside display that is small and not a big depository for fingerprints, clear and attractive inner display, keypad where buttons are far enough apart that you hit the one you intend, and seemingly unlimited speed-dial locations. Easy to use menu functions.
The two phones that I thought might be okay are the Samsung a850 or the Motorola e815. But Googling reviews of these leaves me thinking they are not all that. What do you all know about these two phones?
Currently, I'm trying out a pre-paid STi plan with a Samsung a600. It's smaller than I'm used to, but I like it a lot. But I prefer the Verizon network and getting an all-you-can-eat buffet of minutes with a plan under $40, with no worries about whether your phone time will run out when you need to have it.
