I just noticed a slight knocking in my 1998 Durango yesterday. There's been an acceleration and decceleration "thump" for as long as I can remember but not there's a slight knocking now that's hardly noticable. We have had very few problems from the vehicle and it has had regular tune ups and oil changes. It only has 106k miles on it, too.
My question is what could be causing this? What would need to be replaced in most cases like this? Gaskets? Rods? You get the picture.
Also, any ideas on the cost? I would like to fix it ASAP so it doesn't get worse and more expensive. I've had a vehicle throw a rod before... NOT fun! Thank you for the advice.
