**BEFORE PROCEEDING, ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR PHONE BACKED UP!**

THIS TUTORIAL ASSUMES YOU ARE ALREADY ON 3.1.2!
-------
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

* An iPhone 3G -- new bootrom
* 3.1.2 already installed or 3.1.2 installed via SHSH blobs.

Never mind. here is someone that uploaded all the files. it's working on my end. all you will need would be the libusb as well as your custom 4.0 firmware created with snowbreeze. good luck.

OK I have managed to boot my phone now but it will not connect to iTunes. I get "error 0xE8000065"

any ideas??

I am having a problem here. When I use payload pwner I get 2 files, the iboot.payload and then I also get ibec.40. The problem is that I am then supposed to take the ibec file from the extracted ios4 ipsw from sn0wbreeze and rename it to ibec.40. In the list of files that should be in your iBooty directory there is only one files lsited from Payload Pwner and the ibec.40 listed says it is the one from extracted from the ios4 ipsw. So I decided that I would get rid of the iobec.40 created by payload pwner and rename the ibec file extracted from the snowbreeze ipsw. Everything went fine until I am meant to reboot with iBooty, I manage to restore and then when i try to boot it, I jsut get stuck on the snowflake screen.

Any ideas???

this is after I am on 4.0. I already did the jailbreak but now when it comes back from iboot to reboot it doesn't connect to itunes.

tutorial for rebooting using ibooty
1. close itunes.
2. hold home+power button until screen flashing and automatic go into recovery mode
3. again close itunes detect recovery mode.
4. run ibooty wait until everything is done.
5. stuck on logo snow now (yes indeed). now run itunes then finally you got log screen

Are you on At&t or a carrier? make sure you uncheck activate when you go to the general screen when creating the custom 4.0. it's checked automatically which is for unlock phones. that's why I was having the issues. I created a new custom firmware and all is well now. good luck.

Thank you but this isn't my issue. I get an error when I plug my iphone back to the computer after everything is done. I don't have an issue rebooting. I could reboot fine with ibooty. I just can't connect to itunes. someone said to download ultrasnow. I am going to try that.

install afc2add then after reboot connect again..

before iv got same error like that not connecting itunes..
