Finally some news for those of us doing without it but have signed up....






I'm fairly certain I fall under the Beta 1 but just barely, if not guess I have to wait until forever!! Grrrrr....at least it explains why most are not getting the SMS message.

-it seems that Skyfire may be a web browser for mobile phones. I look forward to learning more about it, too.
 
Hey Guys!...has anyone gotten the skyfire browser yet?...i received the invite today but im not able to log onto it other than using wifi :sad: ....is there someone else that has overcome this and if you have.. could you let me know....i've searched and i'm thinking it's because of our proxy...maybe they use one that doesn't work for us...i even have an email saying that they couldn't send the invite text to my device(mogul)..thanks in advance..oh and i signed up for it in the beginning of march :goodness:
 
It might not have any proxy support... If it doesn't, that's a feature you should definitely request.

How's it work on Wifi? Like it?

Too...i think that you're right...it fails to log in everytime i try...i've removed the proxy settings and it still isnt working...as far as wifi it's pretty cool...last night i was doing some things and connected with activesync then started up skyfire(of course thats different but hey it worked lol)...it was nice...i went to youtube, espn, veoh, yahoo and another site that people load movies onto called watch movies and it all worked very well...i let iron man run for about 15 minutes from one site and it worked...double tap zooms in and out...i was able to see youtube and it looks like it does on your regular pc...but again i was connected to activesync so i was using my pc connection....i love it...now i did notice that it uses alot of ram or memory to run the browser but it freed up after i closed it immediately...i started at 22rab and when i closed it ...15rab :goodness: but again it went right back to 22 after i closed it..i've sent them some feedback about the connection error and so far have only gotten an automated reply...i plan to keep sending a few things including what you mentioned about adding proxy support...i also noticed that in my connections setting area under proxy...when i looked again...there was wap.mycricket.com port 1080 in the socks part but i never put it there...maybe it was tryin to create one..is that possible?...i just know that it wouldn't connect for anything...i got frustrated and closed it after soooo many tries lol oh sorry Too i forgot to answer your other question..yes i love it...would love it more if i could actually use it like and when i want to lol...also for my other fellow cricket peeps...you will get yours hold tight...i was going crazy reading in the forums about people just putting in request 2- 3 days before getting it lol....i received it thursday...i had 2 emails come in..one saying that it was my time and that they couldn;t send the text to my phone and then the next came about 20 minutes later and it was ready...but...when i signed up i also signed up my cousin...he had an email in his account that came at the same time as mines and he still hasn't gotten it so i don't know how they are doing these invites...it's crazy :doh: ..have a great weekend guys
 
Hey chick thanks for the reply I am literslly green woth envy, though it could be from too mNy drinks last night. Baziiiing! Alright anyways can you change your proxy settings cause shouldn't it be wap.cricket.com:8080 not 1080?

Also anychance you could go on facebook for me and see if Scrabulous works?
 
LOL hey Burger...you're welcome..i felt the same way because i'm sure that alot of people signed up way before i did and then there were some who are still signing up and getting it 2-3 days later :wow: ..we were not the lucky ones i guess lol...it will come though..i even got a lil impatient after reading all of the threaRAB of people just signing up in april and getting it..i emailed them and inquired about my invite and got a reply back a few days later which was in april...ok i rarable yes i know lol...anyway the proxy was configured right(wap.mycricket.com:8080) but it wouldn't work with our proxy so i unchecked it(unchecked im still able to pull the weather through htc home so i thought it may work) nope it didnt lol...so when i went back in to recheck the proxy back it was blank but upon opening it found that the socks one had wap.mycricket.com:1080 (i didnt put it there i guess it popped up from me unchecking it and either using htc weather or trying to connect with skyfire) and sure i will check that for you...i havent used facebook but i will see what it looks like for you compared to my pc :D ok i did log into facebook for you and i found scrabulous...i entered and yes it works and while i was in the game i can see the ad windows moving just like on the pc...the flash aRAB and all...when i go to yahoo and go to the movie section...you can see the speed racer movie clip playing while browsing...this is nice but again...why can't we just have a lil proxy support lol...i did as Too asked...i sent a long email requseting for them to please add proxy support for the next release because i'm unable to utilize the browser to it's full potential...i again got an automated reply that they would get back to me so if someone else here gets it let's keep on them lol...we need/want skyfire... :clapping:
 
Awesome can't wait to be able to play Scrabulous on my phone. There must be some way to get Skyfire to work with the proxy. I work on a computer all f**king day so I just use my phone when at home.

Isn't there someone on here who has it working? Hopefully they will get back to you on it chick.
 
Ok guys...i haven't received a reply yet but i did log onto skyfire.com today and this is now posted in the FAQ section...it's been re edited but so far it doesn't sound to good for us unless they either incorporate some kind of proxy support or we use wifi strictly>>> Q: Once in awhile when I am using Skyfire, I get a
 
I think the problem is with our port 8080/80 restriction:

"the limited t-zones plans only allow WAP web access, and only allow connections through port 80. Since Skyfire renders full websites and uses additional ports, you cannot connect using this limited plan."
 
That's exactly whats happening Too because no matter how i set it i'm still not able to connect :crying: well other than wifi or through activesync lol...so i guess that we are stuck with using it that way which may be a real deal breaker..i wish cricket would drop the proxy but i'm sure we will be waiting on that for awhile :)
 
Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta is working. It is a pretty kickass browswer. It's handling some older flash thought Youtube is still not working correctly.
 
yes it is pretty nice...i tried it yesterday and was really impressed...i have the full version of opera mobile 8.65 and love it but the beta adRAB some more features and i like the double tap zoom in/out they incorporated in like mini
 
I don't really like 8.65 it just doesn't impress me much. Now 9.5 were talking but to pay as much as you have to for 8.65 felt kind of like a rip off. I would however pay more for 9.5. Just sucks Beta has the glitches it does.
