Skin fell off of wound??? Please help!?

So my mom accidentally slice her finger while cutting meat and got 5 stitches on her forefinger on her left hand. After she got the stitches out which is 10 days, they put in some steri-strips and then those fell off. The wound didn't close that well and then today which is a month now from when she cut herself the skin that folds over the cut fell off and now you can see the pink skin on the inside. I put some Neosporin and a band-aid over it. What should we do? Is this dangerous? Will new skin grow out?? Please help! Thanks! I'm really worried about her.
 
Well, as long as nothing like a bone is exposed then she should be fine! But if your really worried, she needs to see a doctor. You can't be too carefull with these kinds of things. Just relax and don't freak out!
