skannerz: I just bought a Skanerz commander toy from ebay how does it work?

i heard that theres 126 monsters and do you have to get them by scanning things? what if you don't have the right packs to get the monster or doesnt it matter ? when you get a monster can you fight it or do you need someone else with a skanner to fight it cause i will just be playing alone in my house lol. and what else can you do? can you get weapons? etc
