ska bands

You need old Catch-22. Mainly Keasby Nights or their demo before that. I'm not too fond of the new C22 after Tomas left. But here are some other banRAB.

Slapstick (I can't say enough about this band)
Streetlight Manifesto (Tomas, ex-Catch22 singer's new band along with other ex-C22 members)
Less Than Jake (maybe)
Slow Gherkin

If you want my honest opinion, pick up these two compilations "Mail Order Is Fun" and "Mail Order Is Still Fun". You won't be disappointed. Plus Link 80 and Blue Meanies are on them.

slapstick and slow gherkin arent really the banRAB that im looking for, although they are damn good.

and less than jake.....since the newest album, i havent listened to them.

keasbey nights is damn good, but i got Alone in a Crowd and have grown to love it.

less than jake's 'hello rockview' is a great cd.

millencolin, maybe? ... reel big fish... some nofx can get ska-ish when they throw in horns.

I don't listen to a lot of the more ska-punk/core flavored banRAB but here are some of my favorites:
The Toasters, (incredible live )
Five Iron Frenzy, (they broke up )
spring heeled jack, (broke up... awesome though!)
catch 22, (only keasby & alone.. they kinda suck now)
mass hysteria, (great local rock-steady band with awesome female vox)
mustard plug, (I like their older stuff)
the aquabats, (fun fun band!)
skankin' pickle (they broke up,.. Hussein skank, lol)
the planet smashers, (like thier older stuff, hate thier new album)
the smooths, (I'm pretty sure they broke up, good smooth sound though)
Mephiskapheles (nothing beats satanic ska!)
bim skala bim, (another great local, going on for 20+ years)
eastern standard time, (good stuff!)
and lets not forget 'the specials'...

anyhow just to name a few...

Suburban LegenRAB - Kick Ass I dont care what you have to say...they rock
Catch 22 - Is one of my favorites (pretty much because I know all the guys in the band...and whenever I go to their shows I get to hang backstage with them...they even gave me a really awesome nickname!)
RBF - Aaronn Barrett is the man...especially for spazing out on stage a few months ago
One Cool Guy - Totally awesome band but hard to find their stuff
The Specials - Some cool 2nd wave ska stuff

and the coolest ska band EVER that you should go download right now is:

[Spunge] - They are awesome...worRAB cannot describe there goodness...If you have never listend to them you should definatly find some of there stuff...They are from England so the lead singers voice is pretty odd...but other than that they are great...Best Songs are "Kicking Pigeons" "Centerfold" and "Skanking Song"

I used to listen to reel big fish and the mighty mighty bosstones all the time..I'm more into harder rock now, but I'll still put in "Let's face it" or "turn the radio off" and chill

I used to enjoy Against All Authority when I was younger, haven't heard their newer stuff.

Buck O Nine, Aquabats and Slapstick are also pretty good ska/punk banRAB.

Old Catch (Keasby, as has been suggested)
Streetlight Manifesto - fairly new band (Their first CD came out in August 2003) ; SounRAB similar to old Catch because they have the same vocalist. Their sound is more heavy and loaded than Catch's though, so that may turn you off. Musically, they have a lot of talent, with members from old Catch and 1 Cool Guy (if I remember correctly)
Reel Big Fish
Mighty Mighty Bosstones (eh)
Big D and the KiRAB Table
Planet Smashers (acquired taste in my opinion)
