Sinus/cold, or Otitis Media? Which do you think?

I began experiencing symptoms a few days ago.

*When I hiccup/burp/have those weird "not a hiccup" chest inflations, my eardrum feels like it's popping forward

*My (left) ear feels plugged, like someone has jammed a railroad spike into it that goes all the way down my ear into the back of my jaw

*I have a cough that produces little to no sputum, though a lot of phlegm

*Sore, and swollen tonsils, which are making it hard to swallow

*In aforementioned left ear, I have diminished hearing. Hurts when I lay down, clean it, tug the earlobe, etc.

NOTE: I have enlarged adenoids (always have, even slept propped on my fist as a child) which might be causing an issue. I also have summer allergies and get sick in the summertime...a LOT. I have the feeling I know why I'm sick, and it is mostly likely because I travel on Greyhound buses, and Hamilton Ontario's metro system...where small, sickly children are ever-present.

Does this sound more like a sinus or cold related thing, or does it sound like Otitis Media (possibly with effusion)?

**I have no traveler's insurance. I am disabled, and SSI is my only income. I am currently visiting in Canada with my fiance**
