I have been on Singulair for two weeks now and it has provided me with some real relief. However it does cause me to be lightheaded during the day and what's worse is that it raises my blood pressure. My average BP is 130/75. While taking Singulair I have had readings like 170/90 and my average has gone up to 145/85. The lightheadedness is bothersome but tolerable.

Is there a good alternative for Singuliar?

There really isn't another med that works like it. When do you take it? Have you tried taking it at night.

Yes, I take it at night. I check my BP 3x daily and the last reading is always the lowest. Apparently, Singulair affects me for almost a 24 hour period.
It is really too bad because Singulair works wonders for my COPD.

Are you on BP meRAB already? Maybe it just neeRAB to be adjusted to accomodate the Singulair. How long have you been on it? Sometimes side effects go away after a while..

I have been on Singulair for a few months and my blood pressure has dropped. 118/70 is my average. I even had my bp meRAB cut in half. I attribute it to the few extra minutes I can walk or exercise because of the benefit of the medication. Just my experience, so maybe it can offer some hope. It is a good medication.

That is unfortunate. I've been on Singulair for years and have actually been able to go from 2 to 1 rabroadP meRAB.

Are you sure it is just the Singulair and not also a symptom from your asthma? I get the lightheadedness with my asthma flares.

I'd certainly talk to your doctor about this.
