Having a single room in college is both a blessing and a curse. Yes, I can stay up and watch tv as long as I want. I can make a mess and leave it for days, and every night can be a fiancee sleepover night if I wanted it to be.
But there are also a fair share of downsides. I'm paying an extra grand a year for a single room. There isn't much reason for me to keep the room clean because nobody really visits and I don't have a roomate bitching at me to keep my shit picked up. So now my floor is a landmine of dirty clothes, kleenex from being sick, and the sunday paper. (From last week.)
Sometimes I wish I had a real person to talk to. My fiancee has had so much homework to do lately that I've been stuck talking to him over MSN messager. Since I don't have a roomate, my stuffed animals have become wonderful conversationalists, and that scares the shit out of me.
I wish I could go home and sleep in my own bed, eat real home cooked food, play with my dogs, and take a sit down bubble bath. I hate the showers here at school. I hate the thought of touching the shower curtain, I can't shower without flip flops, and there is no chaning area. It's basically take of your towel and jump into the stream of water while trying to close the curtain and hang up your towel without getting it wet. *sigh*
