Since we now own government motors (GM) why don't we split it up into several companies?

The whole reason why we bought it was to keep companies like Toyota, Honda and other foreign companies from taking over our market. Since there aren't enough American car companies and we control GM why not break it up. We did it with the phone company and can anyone argue that it was not a good idea?

I remember that owning a phone was more expensive then what it is today. So maybe we need to work on cutting up all those firms that we bailed out. I mean we own most of their stock so we have a say so don't we?

I used to think that breaking up a company was a bad thing. Well I was lead to believe this because of our Politicians. I don't believe this anymore and now I am for breaking up Monopolies cause it creates jobs and lowers prices. Isn't this the very foundation of our nation?

I am not alone on this.
