Since Obama halted pay raises for some of his staff, because as he said, we all need to tighten our belts.Shouldn't Obama pressure Congress to go back and vote down their pay raise? Or is Congress immune to belt tightening?

The real test of this freeze will be once the recession has settled down and the freeze lifted. If the raises are then astronomical for these guys, you will know this was nothing but pure politics. When the American worker is going to be happy to see a 5-10% raise after years of freezes or cuts, my guess is these guys will be getting 50% or more.
