...keeps tripping.? I hope that someone can point me in some direction to help with an issue I'm having with electricity (and whether or not the cable company who recently installed and wired two new cable jacks may be liable).
I just moved into my dad's home to be with him because he is aging. Long story short, the first night we were here we hooked up televisions in two rooms (the two bedrooms we occupy). The next morning, the cable company came out and installed and wired two new cable jacks and hooked up digital cable/internet/digital phone in these two bedrooms.
The first night we were here, before the cable company came, everything was fine, no issues. Well, since the cable company has come out we have been having intermittent problems with breakers tripping. At first it was just tripping in the two rooms that had the cable installed, along with the third bedroom (no services installed in this room) and the laundry room (where the fuse box is). Now every so often not just the fuse to those rooms, but the main breaker will trip.
Is it possible that when the technician installed our new cable wiring, he accidentally "loosened" something or shorted something out? Or does anyone know what the cause could be? I don't want to call the cable company to tell them they may have messed something up without some intelligence that in fact it is possible that this could be the case. I just think it is most likely not a coincidence that this has been occurring exactly since right after my cable was installed.
Any advice from someone who knows about this stuff (because I don't) would be greatly appreciated.
