Sims 3 game wont open?!?

Ive had it installed and playing it since it came out, then recently i tried installing one of the updates and it says, error file not found. But the game still worked. So i just didn't bother with it. But then i went to modthesims2.com to look at some downloads, and i tried installing stuff but it didn't work how i wanted so i installed this thing from their website and when i tried playing the game it said "unable to open game, sevice initialization failed" then a few numbers and letters that don't mean anything to me. I restarted my cpu and it still won't work. Is there a way to fix this? and if i uninstall then reinstall it, will i lose all the downloaded content that i paid for from the website?!
 
sorry i don't know anything about the install thing however with the store, you can download stuff again because you have already bought them.
 
Not sure if you will lose the content, their might be a way you can put it back on if you re-install it or if that doesn't you can try emailing them and tell them your account and tell them that you had to re-install the game and see if they will look up the stuff you bought and let you put it back into your game - Hope this helps - ClicheUsername
