my opportunity is to cook a group serving of hamburgers for a BBQ at the police station. i have made the hamburgers but i have no idea how to "deliver" them to the police station. am i supposed to put them in my inventory somehow?

it doesn't drag into my inventory?
Yes! You put them on a counter or whatever, open up your inventory, and grab it and drag it over to the little inventory box. Then you click on the police station thing-type thing, click 'Deliver'.
