i just wanted 2 know whether there were any similarities between the laws of ancient civilizations and present civilizations.

ancient civilizations such as Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt,Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome?

any answers would be greatly appreciated. thanks

I can tell you some differences, and then maybe I'll get to the similarities. In the old days, it was: break a law and we kill you. In Iraq during Sodomy Hosain's reign, this also applied. Or, for women, break a law, we rape you, and then we kill you. However, in ancient egypt, greece, rome, there were courts and judges. Everyone got a fair trial (ha yeah right, it depended on how attracted the judge was to the person). Also, Rome had a democracy, which back then meant everyone gets the right to vote(except women, children, slaves, and people that the rich people don't like). Rome actually developed the first democracy, along with the great wall of rome, and the battle of marathon.
