silver circle beside the camera lens on my samsung intensity, what is it for?

ok, so i think its a small mirror for taking pics of yourself or with your friends or w/e cause i used it to test my theory, and the reflection and the pic were very similar in proportion and what not. so i told my dad and he laughed hysterically at me and told me to google it, i couldnt find anything... any help proving me right or wrong?

Yeah... I searched my samsung freeform manual and its a mirror for taking more accurate portraits.
