My mother had toxemia when she was pregnant with me, and spent 17 days in the hospital on complete bedrest before I was born. I had my first child in January 2009, and I didn't have any complications whatsoever. I'm currently 31 weeks with our second child, and I have been having some issues. I've been dizzy and seeing spots in front of my eyes for a few weeks now, and the doctor told me it was due to low blood sugar. He told me to eat every 2-3 hours, which I have been doing, but the dizziness and spots have continued. I have had a terrible headache since last night that won't let up with tylenol. My hands and feet keep swelling, and I feel so nauseous. I called my doctor's office about it, but I still haven't heard anything back yet. (They're a busy office, so it's not unusual for me to call in the morning and not hear anything until 5.) I don't want to take any chances, because my doctor told me during my last pregnancy that I'm at a higher risk of getting pre-eclampsia, but at the same time, I don't want to be paranoid. lol! Have any of you had pre-eclampsia and does this sound like anything I should worry about? Thanks in advance!
