I previously talked to a Navy recruiter who told me I needed to get 15 college credits to negate my G.E.D. I did all that, but still have a couple things to work out in the meantime. I've taken the ASVAB and got a score of 62. Through all this time of not talking to the recruiter while working out the personal things I need to do before enlisting, I've been feeling a bit of a change of heart. I just don't feel I'd be doing my part enough sitting on a ship out in the Ocean. I'm not saying that all the branches aren't equally important as that would be ludicrous. However, I'm not sure that the Navy is right for me. The job I've been having the most interest in is simply Infantry. If I don't have 20/20 vision, it's damn close. My physical shape could be better, but I'm positive I can manage, if not excel.
I guess I'm looking to find out if the odds look good for me getting into the Infantry. What can I expect from a career in the Military. Anybody with experience can feel free to tell stories and/or opinions of why I would be good for it as well as the contrary. Also, what are the odds of seeing action?
