signed a rental agreement to rent a house no pets are fish classified as pets?

So even if it is a 55 gal
tank they are still considered
novelties?
 
You should ask your landlord how he or she feels. Even if fish themselves are not considered pets, many landlords do not want fish tanks because of the possibility of water damage if the tank leaks.
 
I say fish are pets, but since they don't make mess like other animals can I say that they would be fine. Alot of people consider fish as decorations, I dont think thats right..but if you are unsure I would check with the person you are renting from. Just incase :)
 
Even though I think that fish are pets (I think of mine that way) I don't think that there is a landlord anywhere who would object to your having them. I've lived in no pet apartments my entire life (all 60+ years) and not one landlord has objected. Just don't break the tank.
