sideways(2004) appreciation

maybe it's because movies like sideways don't draw much attention. in fact, i wouldn't have watched it if it was not nominated for the best picture. but this kind of movies reflect life so well that everyone can relate to it. this insight about wine and life is really metaphorically brilliant. i can't think of anything else that resembles life so well.
by the way, it's a shame Paul Giamatti didn't get a nomination for Oscar best actor. he certainly deserved one.
 
The movie definitely had some great moments. :nod: The comparison between life and a bottle of wine was so well done. Though the funny bits were great as well.
 
sometimes life is very much like a bottle of wine. to savor the best of wine, you have to open it at the right time; life is also a similar curve that has only on peak. take it, or forever wish you had. there is a lot of serious philosophy in this movie. it's not just a laugh.
