Sidekick Lx 2009 unlocking?

If I bought a sidekick lx 2009 or any other sidekick. off of ebay, which is unlocked, would I only be able to use it for calling/messaging. would the internet or any of the apps work.
(one i'm thinking of bidding on is coming from america, would that make a difference?) I like in the UK btw.
 
I had a sidekick LX before and it ws unlocked from ebay, and you can text and call and do everything besides using the internet. Mine broke because the screen wasn't working, but i don't think you will have that problem, but i think you can still use th apps. i hope that answers your question, oh and even if you are not in america, it will still e the same thing.
