Have had Anxiety, Depression/Social Withdrawal/Social Anxiety, since i was 11, im now 21. or at least have always had symptoms. left school in 2007, have had 2 jobs, first one i left due to it just not being suitable and now my second one ive been there a year now and since May09, ive been signed off by my GP due to stress/anxiety/panic/ all those kind of things. My question is, what is the difference between Occupational Sick Pay and Statutory Sick Pay. I've been informed that my Occupational Sick Pay has ceased since 26th Aug 09. and that my SSP will cease 11th December 09. Does this mean that the SSP will carry on, and does that mean that whilst it is carrying on, i am not elegible for Incapacity Benefit/Unemployment? Advice please. (UK) please ask if further info is required to enhance quality of answer. Many thanks.
It is also imminent that i am very likely to have my employment contract terminated due to absence, i am not able to return per GP advice and general health. I know i should contact the job centre, however im just scared that once ive been "layed off" due to ill-health, does that mean im disqualified from claiming anything to help until i recover (apparently the psychological illnesses such as depression/anxiety/stress/panic etc, could or can take either months/years.
