Siamese fighting fish-fins?

The fish you have aren't known for fin nipping. Could be fin rot, which basically rots away fish fins. Take a close look at the others for signs of this.

The bag isn't really a good idea, that will just stress it out more.

Another possibility is that the fish has caught it's self on sharp objects in the tank, fighting fish love hiding in plants, and can easily rip fins on plastic plants.

Good luck
You should put the fish back in the tank, do a water test to make sure everything is how it should be: Ammonia 0, nitrite 0 nitrates under 20pp, maybe get some fin rot med from the fish shop, take a photo of the fish to the shop with you, so the people have a better idea of what might be wrong. Also check out your stocking levels, make sure you have enough room for the fish you have.

ADDED:
not sure what a glass fish is, but I've never had problems from angles nipping.

Ok so in my tank ive got a small angel, a glass fish , 3 platties and a siamese fighter.
Anyways ive come home today and my siamese has basically no fins left.
What shall i do, i dont expect the shop will take him back, he can hardly swim. At the minute ive put him in a bag to save him from futher punishment, but he doesnt look happy.
suggestions for what to do now?
thanks
thanks for the advice, i didnt know he shouldnt be housed with them, i did ask the shop if they would be ok together and they said it would be fine :(
Sadly, im not expecting him to recover, hes in a seperate container but wont eat and is barely moving.
Thanks for the advice though.

First of all-sorry to hear your betta isn't well! Take him out of the community tank!!! Siamese fighters basically shouldn't be housed with the other fish you have. You could keep him in a small plastic container for now. the bag is only going to make him worse. His fins WILL grow back eventually, if he stays stress-free, has a clean environment, and starts eating again. When he calms down he will eat. They can go 4 or 5 days without so try not to worry!

Take him out of the bag immediately and find something else to put him in, the bag isn't allowing any airflow. An old Rubbermaid container or something would be fine; just make sure it's tall enough for him, or put a top on it, but definately poke holes in the top.

You need to find a clean, warm tank for him to heal in. You'll likely need to go to the store and find an antibiotic to treat him with until he his fins begin healing.

And in the future.... never put long finned fish with Angels. This isn't fin rot, unless you've been gone for at least a couple of days, there's no way fin rot could have done this much damage.

Immediately move him into another tank, a separate tupperware or clean container or bucket filled with tank water. This can be a temporary hospital tank.

Then, take a cup of the water out of the hospital tank and into the cup dissolve around 1 heaped tablespoon of salt per 5 gallons of water in the container.

Pour this back into the bucket and gently release the betta into the bucket. You can also add some general tonic or finrot medicine if you wish. Your betta should regrow his fins soon depending on the water quality of the makeshift hospital tank.

Good luck!

A betta should never be housed with aggressive or nipping fish, ie the glass fish, and angel. Yes angels ARE fin nippers, and are also classified as semi aggressive.
I suspect it was the angel, known aggressive nippers (just look at the ones in the tanks in the store, muliple tears and rips), that did the deed.
He'll need to be isolated, temp kept high and a mild antibiotic or freshwater aquarium salt added to prevent a secondary infection from setting in.
Excellent water quality is a must right now (so a small tank is better than the current bag), his water is to his wounsd as a clean dressing is to ours.
It will take awhile for his fins to re-grow, and they more than likelly will not return to his original glory, especially if any infection sets in.
When healed, do not return to the current tank.
Best of Luck!
