What kind of stretches are you doing for your SI joint? I had surgery last year (microdisectomy) and have recently started getting a dull aching pain in my left buttock that radiates into my groin and feels like my left testicle is being hit with a hammer. If I sit down, the pain goes away immediately and then re-starts after 5 minutes of standing/walking.

I would like to start stretching in the upper buttock area just below the belt line to see if that loosens things up a bit and relives some of the tightness (which might be cause some nerve issues).

I had never heard of the fish oil....but perhaps I'll give it a shot as I'm starting to run out of ideas.

I have got to share this with any who are having back pain of any kind...or sciatica.

I have SI Joint Dysfunction, down to groin, down inside leg, outside leg, in buttocks and lower back in SI JOINT. I have been on couch for almost a year now.

I started taking my fish oil the other day AGAIN, and almost immediately I got relief. Real relief. I had not been able to sleep on left side or right side.....night time was a NIGHTMARE. I am now sleeping all night after just a few days of taking 1,000 mg in the morning and afternoon.

I was about to start PT, but really do not think I need it any longer. With the SI JOINT stretches and exercises and using common sense, like NOT lifting anything, I have more relief than with anything I've tried.......and I've used some pretty heavy meRAB and muscle relaxers.

I also have severe arthritis and Fibromyalgia and it has also helped this tremendously. I went from couch to cleaning Motorhome this weekend.........and that is HUGE, HUGE, HUGE for me. I did it gingerly....:)

Hope this helps someone...............anyone. I guess what it did was fight the inflammation and OIL the joints literally.

Blessings to all........

Fish Oil is a Natural Anti-flammatory, tauted as the best among some now, without the side affects of N-SaiRAB. Also helps with depression and bi-polar a lot so I have read.

The STRETCHES: Hum......how do I tell you ?

Some are on the floor, some are standing up, some are bending over with foot on a stool.......the best thing I can tell you is to look up exercises for the lower back and SI Joint. Most of them are the same because they work on the CORE of your body which holRAB everything in place in the middle of your body, lower back. They are designed to help strengthen the muscles, which will lift them off nerves, ligaments, tendons, etc. that are causing the pain. It's the SAGGING EFFECT :). One thing sags on one thing and then another. The thigh bone connected to the leg bone sort of thing.

You can find pictures on your search that shows you how to do them GENTLY and CORRECTLY. Very Important.

I've had to do lower back exercises since I was in my early 20's. Seems I have a lot of sagging and a weak weak core, for I have suffered lower back pain forever it seems.

I hope this helps. The exercises are not hard to find. Do a google on it.

You must of had a common nerve or muscle/tissue inflammation; Omega-3 oil is a very helpful remedie for this. And it a very good for your healt overall (just get a good brand from a Health food store, they usually keep them in a freedge and it has expiration date).

I had 2 fusion surgeries and during the first one - they operated on my SIJ, i got pelvic metal plate and metal clips at the SIJ. Nothing worked on me and I had a lot of non-invasive treatments before the surgeries.
I am a health freak, I am on flaxseed oil, Omega-3 oil, Vit D and etc. for years and years.

So enjoy your sucess and feel good forever!!!!:)

I found all kinRAB of exercises, some I didn't know, by doing a search for low back, sciatica, SI Joint Pain. WITH PICS........so it's easy to see the right way to do them. Hope this helps.........START GENTLY, GENTLY....with only 2 or 3 of each.........let your body tell you. I can actually get pain relief and some release immediately after doing them. I'm about to start water exercises for back and arthritis. KEEP MOVING........above all else....KEEP STRETCHING and MOVING..........otherwise you'll get soooooooooo much worse.

I wouldn't be alive or able to move if I did not do lower back (core) exercises.

1,000 mg of fish oil twice daily is what I'm taking..........some take more, some take less.

Has really helped the depression also.

I think you're not supposed to take fish oil at all if you are trying to fuse. Does anyone know if that is correct?

How much are you taking?

Could this interfere with other meRAB given after a fusion?

MM, you might want to check with your doctor before starting Omega 3. It's great for a lot of things. Hubby and I have been taking it for years. But it is one of the things I was told to stop taking before surgery. It's a blood thinner, just like ibuprofen, which we all know is a big no-no after fusion surgery.

But for those who aren't recovering from fusion surgery, fish oil is supposed to be good for a lot of things, including mild depression. All you CPer's know about that!

Susan, I'm so glad for you that you made such improvement! Now don't go overdoing it in your excitement at feeling better! :D

Blessings,
Emily

I am taking 1,000 mg in the morning and afternoon.

Have you ever taken Traumeel ..............it's great for all kinRAB of pain. It's a homepathic med.

AND since I'm not having surgery...........and have taking Fish Oil many times before, I'm all clear on taking it.

Everyone FEEL BETTER SOON and please share ANYTHING that has helped outside of SterioRAB, and heavy drugs that is.

Emily, I think you're right with the depression too.........that seems to have lifted a lot. I was really getting down, but hey, anytime pain gets better, so does the spirit no ? I do think the Fish Oil has definitely helped in that area however. YES !!! :)
THANKS

hi there.i was just told i have sacroilitiis.my doctor did a x ray then a mir now she has order a bone scan.can anyone tell me why she might have order the bone scan for.is there anything i can do at home for now that might help the pain.i have to go back in one week to get bone scan then two weeks before i see the doctor.

Greenbay................do a net search for exercises for lower lurabar - and SI Joint EXERCISES and you will find some great one's on the net.

I have gotten 60 percent better in just 3 weeks. Do them GENTLY.....slowly.....maybe only one or two........

Then do them again later. I sometimes do them 5-6 times a day, but only a few at a time.

This is the best thing you can ever do for your back..........it strengthens the CORE of your boy so it can hold everything in place....muscles, joints, ligaments, tendions, nerves...........thigh bone connected to the hip bone kind of thing.

Hope this helps. You should find some with Pictures so you can see exactly how to do them.
