I am so sorry you have so much pain. Unfortunatelly I can't be a big help to you because I had 9 epidurals and non of them worked well for me.
In fact I was in so much pain for a couple of weeks after and like you said meRAB don't even touch the pain...

Finally my Dr realized they don't work for me and I stopped doing them

See maybe in couple of days you will feel better, I hope. If not, just talk to your DR, honey.

Best wishes to you...

Post procedure pain is not uncommon for this procedure. For me it was about the same as an epidural injection.

he said he put alot more steroid in there then when i get an epidural...after my walk i can taste the steroid yuk!!
my checks feel very hot and i got light headed but i walked slowly in a large store for 1 hour soo i got my self some orange sherbert i hope it cwenches my thirst? how long did the side effects last for you? i would rather have these wierd little side effects not that severe almost er pain i had today!!

Hi,
IDET is inter Disc Electrode treatment. I had tried a nuraber of procedures and then IDET was suggested to me by my neuro surgeon. Trying to establish where pain is coming from can be very hard. Some say DDD does not cause pain, others say it does. For me I had a slight bulge and DDD in 3 discs. I had a discogram to establish which disc they "thought" was where the pain was from. They did not think the bulge on one of the disc was the source of all my pain. the discogram showed which disc and then they went in under the guideance of like an x-ray machine to show which area they were going to burn off with the electrode. Basically it is burning off of the disc bulge. It is an extremely painfull procedure and you are awake for it, as they need to know if they hit anything. Which they did for me and left my left leg "dead" for awhile and still a nuraber of years on it is only recently I can bring my left leg up to put on a sock. For me the procedure did nothing only cause more pain, and left my leg in extreme pain. Wouldnt recommend it.
hope this helps

I got 2 SI Joint injections, 2 separate times, and I wasnt too bad after. I bet my Dr. didnt put enough steroid in there. The injections unfortunately didnt help me at all. I am to the 2nd epidural phase now. Oh boy, are wehaving fun yet?

hi yes i have had 2 epidurals but this is all of a sudden today way way worse...i let him shoot me blind he said they don't do them at the hospital he is a walk in dr we really like but maybe i shouldn't have let him??

Hi there, I had a nuraber of epidurals and both were going in blind. But as far as I know all the epidurals are. For a IDET I did have a screen where they could see where they go in. As far as I can remeraber the facet blocks were all blind aswell. So yes it can be very much so a hit and miss situation. After 3 epidurals and 3 sets of facet blocks I gave up. Did nothing for the pain.

I am sorry that it didnt work for you either.

guess i'm doing things backwarRAB? cause i had 2 epidurals now i've just started the si joint injections
(not counting the 30 trigger point) i feel like if i drink water i'll look like a sprinkler lol... my pain is very high hoping i can keep food down ..had new dr app i'll start a new thread about that later thanks for the replies!
