All I have to say is this.
I'm actually surprised.
It's pretty... good.
Seriously, I am. If there's one thing this Shrek has over the first three - it's that this one is pretty much all about character development. We're given hints on what Fiona was about during the tower, what Shrek lacked, etc.
My only gripe is that somehow they made Shrek a "newcomer" when it comes to the family business. I guess they sorta wanted to ignore a chunk of 3 to be ignored, since the whole point of the Rumpelstiltskin deal was for his "crisis". And that Rumpel isn't really that compared to the third movie. And man, he's the best villain in the series.
And what's this? Very few pop culture jokes only limited to songs? Is this a Shrek film? XD
