Show Us Your Helmet.

+1 Please explain---Does this mean we do not have to carry around a clear visor for night time? The same visor will go from tint to clear when the sun goes down?

Yup that what it appears to be...

The Akuma Transitions

I believe that is exactly what he is referring to fellas. I only know of one other company that makes them:

http://www.wikidesigns.com/

There is definitely a market for them. I just don't think it would be cost effective for the big-helmet companies to start making 2-in-1 visors. Unless they bumped the price up of course

Are these actually certified bike helmets? I'd love the silver one for shits and giggles LOL...

I have a tricolore Arai, same one Kami and some others had waaaaay back...

I don't know about the Wiki. I've also heard that Icon or someone is offering one that "transitions."
I've heard that one isn't very good.
The one on the Akuma is the trademarked, Transitions lens, just like the sunglasses. I love it, works great.
They are coming out with visors that have a button that INSTANTLY changes from clear to tint also; not for sale yet. Operates off of a very small battery near the pivot point with integrated button. This would be great for entering tunnels for example. But for now, you can't beat the real Transitions visor. And I bought a spare, but got the other one that transitions...from clear to mirror.

I had a transitioning shield for my RF1000 but i returned it and bought a smoke one. For me the transition from relatively clear to tinted was to little, it was less tinted than what light smoke was.

My Transitions on the Akuma helmet is darker than light smoke, but not as dark as the dark smoke on my Arai. If you're riding into the sunset, you might want a dark smoke, or wear sunglasses underneath.
