show improvements?

I would focus on some of the other characters on the show like Ralph, Comic Book Guy, Chief Wiggum, Ned Flanders, etc. I would like to see an episode about them, not just always focused on the Simpson family, even though the show is called The Simpsons.
 
I would restore the role the interpersonal relationships used to play in the plotlines. And aim for the poignancy in them.
 
What would you do to improve the show? BTW, if you're going to say "make it funny", then TELL us how you would make it funny.

I would allow guest stars more "onscreen" time, develop a storyline where their character plays a more active role. What's the point of hyping up how a big star will appear on the show, only to have them say one line?
