Shouldn't comedians take more responsibility? It's the old "it was a JOKE" excuse that

makes them feel free to? say absolutely ANYTHING and get away with it. Bill Maher was joking about violence against women last night, saying it was a wonder no one had choked Tila Tequila SOONER. This I found disgusting. I am very liberal and agree with 95% of Maher's political views (where we disagree I am probably more liberal) so don't even TRY to bring politics into this!!
Earth Song, I totally get the subjectivity of humor pov. It's true. I am simply advocating for a modicum of decency here. There is gulf of difference between understading the inherent subjectivity of comedy and advocating for 100% anything and everythig goes. What about a good 9/11 joke or a holocaust joke that makes fun of jews in ovens?

The thing is, everyone's humor is different. While you ma have found that choke insulting, someone else may have found it funny, get what I'm saying?

I only watch comedians who DO NOT make sexual jokes, I just don't like them. Once I was watching Eddie Griffith, and I liked most of his jokes, but he started getting sexually explicit big time, so I changed it. People were laughing tho. So everyone's different.
