I have bipolar II- the very mild form and it is well managed now for about 5 years on meds/ treatment and exercise. (Took a lot of growing up, maturity and gaining insight). I had an unmedicated and depressed semester in college and it caused a drop in grades. Should I include this info on my med school application/ statement? I am hesitant that the medical community is that enlightened yet. I think we have about a decade or so to go. It could be seen as overcoming and persevering or could be seen negatively. You could say dont draw attention to the bad semester, but a D is hard not to see. I graduated with a 3.6 and have a great app otherwise. Or should I just mention a "medical condition" and not say what it was. Would that be vague? (And just an FYI, I do not have to tell them, ADA approved.) What do you all think? Thanks!
