My husband and I just recently bought a house, and the previous owners had turned one of the bedrooms into a dining room. It connects to the kitchen through a doorway, and also has another door leading into the hallway. There used to be a small space in the kitchen for a table, but they decided to put cabinets there instead, so they took the carpet out and put a table into that bedroom. I hate how it is set up, and my husband and I are debating whether to add a dining room onto the kitchen, or permanently convert the bedroom into a dining room. The only think keeping me back from converting that bedroom into a dining room is that that would leave us with only 2 bedrooms on the main floor (we dont have an upstairs). We would eventually finish the basement and add a bedroom down there, but are 2 bedrooms on the main floor bad for resale? I'm stuck on what we should do. We are a young couple and plan to start having kids within the next 5 years or so. Any suggestions?
