Should we quit using the electoral college?

both repubs and dems have benefited over the years by the electoral college.

personally i think the technology we have today could lend itself to a pure 100% open vote whereby we simply allow individuals to vote and then talley them up. If we had done this in November our deer leader chairmen MOUbama would not have been elected.

I am kind of thinking that it is useless at this point as the whole country (and world) are so interconnected.
Where did I say that I was in favour of a one world government?

Besides, in a Democracy, which we are in (theoretically) I personally would like to see my vote on there when they are tallying. If you voted for a losing party (which I did...and it wasn't the McCain camp), I didn't get to see it recognized anywhere.

And as to what our founding fathers wanted...we are all game with updating everything else that our founding fathers were in favour of, especially when it is convenient to ourselves. When this was set up, it wasn't all that easy to communicate with one another.
Oh, I added in that we can connect with the country (and the world) instantly because if I didn't throw that in, some loser would point out that we can communicate with the rest of the world too but of course, a few winners took that the wrong way.
