Should there be a slight odor coming from my betta fish tank?

Tank oder is usually associated with either very unhealthy water conditions, of as part of the cycling process. In your case, I'd suggest the latter. Cut back to one 25% water change per week. Eliminate any higher percentage water changes completely, they're doing more harm than good.

I have had my new betta fish for a month now. He is in a 2 gallon heated and FILTERED aquarium.
I keep the water crystal clear, doing small changes every day or two. Since I've had him I have done maybe 2 70% water changes as well.

I noticed a slight odor coming from his tank. I don't think it has been there all along. It is by no means a strong smell. In fact.. it doesn't even smell "bad"....
Is it normal for a tank to give off a slight odor? What is causing it?

Please note that whenever I do water changes it is always with de-chlorinated water and the water is also treated with aquarium salt.

There has been no behavioral changes with my little fishy either. In fact, he is happily swimming through his plants and castle right now and dancing for food if i go near him.
