Should The US allow spankings in Public Schools?

I am 27 and when I was growing up if you got in trouble you got spanked!My daughter is almost 5 and I do believe it should be allowed!Honestly? I think it would be good for young ones to learn that you cannot do bad things and get by with it!What are your thoughts on this issue and why?
Edit: I agree that the parents should be CALLED;0) if that is their choice But I am telling you it would be a great thing if they would! We would not have these spoiled BRATS!:(
I do want to say that I clearly am stating on PUBLIC schools yes,and I do not spank my child,she was taught at a VERY young age to mind me and I use strict time outs for her at home but yes indeed I am saying that if the school would be a bit more brazen? we would not have so many issues!?
 
No, it is not up to the schools to discipline my child in this fashion. I am the only one who should be able to spank my child. There are other forms of punishment. I don't think this is why there are so many brats nowadays.

It is because parents are unwilling to discipline there kids or afraid to discipline them. Some parents want to be there kids friends and do not discipline them. They don't want to inflict the same punishment the incurred while growing up. This is a big mistake.

Some parents are afraid to discipline there kids because they fear going to jail and the kids know this. They threaten their parents by telling them they will call 911 if they are touched.

This is where the issue lies, in the homes!
