Should the storyline with Vickie being GM gone longer?

I feel the conclusion of this storyline was a bit rushed. Could have lasted a bit longer rather than just a few weeks. A lot of interesting things could have happened. Opinions? Don't care? Whose replacing Ziggler at in EC?
