Mine is drawn mostly from a picture I took of bikes on a busy street, so it's pretty clear that it's not from observation. When I began the drawing it was a more concept-driven piece, but now I'm starting to feel like it should have been from observation, even though that would have sacrificed the more interesting aspects of my art.
Anyone know what the right direction to take is?
Also - I DO have drawings from observation in my portfolio, the bike drawing just doesn't happen to be one of those...
