My barn got a new mare who is somewhat underweight and doesn't have much muscle tone (was on pasture all winter). She is being fed so that she gains weight. Can I exercise her and her still gain weight? Also I am currently working with her 3 days a week and next week it may move up to 4-5 days a week. Is this ok to do? This would be alternating ground work and in the saddle.
