Should the Commonwealth become more military focused?

I don't mean totally by the way. I support free trade and the spread of democracy that the Commonwealth promotes, but in a world with growing tension between nations surely a Commonwealth army (similar to NATO maybe) would benefit its members security? What do you think?
 
We can't even put an EU army together and as long as Pakistan and India are neighbours there will be a conflict of interests.

China is very interested in Australia's mineral wealth and America isn't guarding that door on its own.

I like the first answer, it makes sense.
