Should the army be on the border?

Before i get into this immigration debate, i am first and foremost a liberal democrat. However, i am very very much against illegal immigration. Because in my opinion, they are a bigger threat than terrorism, because if you think about it, more americans have been killed by illegals, (ie; gang violence, etc.) than by terrorists. Meanwhile these mexicans are AT OUR BORDERS!! I honestly don't understand why this is such a touchy subject. First off, all gangs in this country should be labeled as domestic terrorists. (i just wanted to add that) Second off the Marines or the army or national guard should be put at the border and shoot on sight. We must however make it clear that any type of crossing into the US illegally will be recognized as an act of terrorism.
I really don't know why people support them, yeah they "come here for a better life" but so did the thousands of people who take the time to follow the law and come LEGALLY. I have no sympathy for these people. They leach off the government, they go to our schools, they're in the hospitals basically getting free medical coverage. meanwhile hardworking Americans can't even get that! They are a huge problem for this country, and i don't know why there's an issue in solving it.

We can't use the army for police functions. Neither Canada nor Mexico's military poses a threat to us, nor are the likely to attack.

So, the army doesn't need to guard the border.

I totally agree with you, I think we should have the national guard stationed all along the board to help eliminate anyone who tries to come here illegally.
