So I recently had my A/C compressor replaced for my car. They told me that they put a rebuilt compressor in. When I turn the A/C on you can hear the compressor turn on and a rumbling/humming engine type of sound is clearly heard. Inside the car with the radio off you can hear the faint noise of this sound. I took my car back to the dealer where they basically opened the hood looked down at the engine where the noise was coming from and they said that it is normal for a rebuilt compressor to make noise like that. It seems that the air is flowing fine but I was told by multiple people it does not sound right. My dad has a car with a rebuilt compressor and it makes almost no noise at all. Is a A/C compressor that is rebuilt expected to make noticeable noise? Is this considered "normal"?
