I'm sitting here listening to the Footy Show. I'm furious by what I'm hearing. There was some kerfuffle with a football player being rude to a fan (threw drinks?) The response from the panel is that they deserve to 'have a life' Of course they do! BUT, they choose to become public figures when they accept the 'big bucks' for kicking the red oval ball around. They are on TV & have sponsors. The facts are they are admired by the fans, are role models for children who aspire to being just like them. When a fan sees their 'idol' in the flesh, they want to get closer, they want to say hi, they want the 'idol' to acknowledge them. It's human nature. Dont be so rough on the fans, they keep the teams going in the end. Where would you be if no-one turned up to the game boys? Yes I respect people's privacy, but I'm over this preciousness - Just thank heaven you're not an Indian Cricketer who cant even leave their own homes. Get over yourselves and do the whole job you're paid to do!!!
