Should Portuguese people have their own census box to fill out.?

I'm mostly Portuguese and I find it really annoying when trying to explain to people what "box" I fit into.
Like most Portuguese I went through years of confusion.

From what I understand we are descended from the Celts, and later Ibero-Celtic. We became "Lusitani" through our travels through the Iberian Peninsula. We are "Hispanic" from the old sense, meaning that the area called "Hispania" encompassed us.

Yet, nowadays the term "Hispanic" means people of Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, South and Central America, etc. It get's weird. We can be classified as "LATINO" because we speak a Latin based romance language, but that is just language/ culture based...or "Heritage".

We existed before Spain and our DNA resembles that of Celtic peoples for the most part, and many don't know that.

We're White Europeans that came from Celts, speak a Romance language, lived in an area referred to as "Hispania" or "Hispanola"...et we aren't the curretn definition of Hispanic.

I put down "White" in any box that asks for it, but sometimes I just feel like putting "OTHER". After all, all Portuguese people are convinced we are special like Unicorns, and if we deny it, we're lying our butts off.

What say you my fellow Portos?
