...requirement? It scares me how stupid politicians are!
I'm not just saying that because I disagree with their policies.
I'm saying it because we live in a world where people like Sarah Palin and George Bush are worthy candidates for power.... <Shudder>
To do well in politics simply means you are good at self promotion... Good at talking crap.
"If stupid people are getting elected, what does that say about the people that voted for them?"
-That the majority are stupid? How does that disprove my point?
"One of my maths lecturers at uni demonstrated gravity by hurling stools across the classroom. The thought of people like him in government is terrifying"
- I think you've totally missed my point.
Your teacher didn't throw stools because he had a high IQ.. I threw them cos he was a prat.
We should still have the same voting system as we have now, but with an extra filter in place.
I said "I".. I mean "He"- obviously.
"dishonesty and greed have nothing to do with how intelligent someone is"
-that's a seperate issue.
I'm not trying to solve the problem of dishonesty and greed in government, I'm trying to solve the problem of low intelligence in government.
"I don't think a high IQ is required to be a compulsive liar or to talk for hours without actually saying anything."
- That's exactly my point. High intelligence is not required- That's the problem.
"I actually didn't realize that you were making a valid point that needed to be disproved"
- Not disproved, but at least understood.
Your comment didn't seem relevant to my question.. Sorry.
"Just a thought - don't take me too seriously"
- At least you understood what I was trying to say! =)
